Crossover Alphabet Soup was completed and posted last week. The abridged version on LJ is here; the complete version on DW is here. 57,000 words of gen fic, with 26 different fandoms.

The Alphabet Soups are an ongoing anthology of gen SG-1 ficlets by various authors. Most of these have centered on individual characters, but this time, the subject is crossovers. Signups are going on now, and the Alphabet Soup will go live on February 1st.

If you are interested in signing up to write a minimum of 100 words of gen fic, crossing SG-1 with the fandom of your choice, please claim a fandom at the signup post.

The challenge feature seems to have gone over like a box of rocks; I left it open for three months, and got maybe one response. Still, I'm not going to give up on it yet.

challenge #002: Want ads or personals

Be creative! Just include characters or at least some recognizeable, universe-unique elements from two or more fandoms, at least one of which must be part of the Stargateverse, and have fun!

Well, from those of you who commented, it looks as though once a month challenges will work best. From now on, challenges will be posted on the first day of every month, and run until the next challenge is posted. You may of course continue to post other Stargate crossover fic or recs in the meantime.

challenge #001: new beginnings

New projects, new relationships, new jobs; starting over, starting a new phase, any kind of new beginning. Characters from two separate fandoms doing something for the first time. Use your imaginations, and have fun!

Ok, I would really like to see a House/Stargate crossover. Any Length, but the longer the better.

Must Haves:
1. Jack and House snarking at each other for some reason.
2. Must be set at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital
3. One of SG-1, Cassie or Janet must be in hospital.
4. Must have some sort of medical case.

Optional:
1. House and team find out about aliens/SGC
2. Janet tries and fails to take over care of patient from house.

Have fun. I really hope someone will choose to do this as I'd love to see it. You can substitute Sg-1 for the Atlantis team if you are more familiar with that show. But I'd Prefer to see SG-1.

In honor of SciFi Friday, I choose today to post our first challenge.

As this is not a challenge community, I intend these to serve as an idea-prompt, not a requirement. Feel free to keep on writing or reccing any other Stargate crossovers in the meantime. =)

#001 - Quantum Mirror

Yes, the hoary old Quantum Mirror idea. The SGC has determined that these lead to alternate realities ... who knows what a team might find on the other side? Or discover in relation to who built them and why?

Challenges will run for two weeks. Enjoy ... and feel free to comment with other challenge ideas for me to use in future!
