I am posting this story on behalf of my friend JD, who does not have an LJ, but who would SO be part of this community if he did. :-)

It's an odd crossover, but he made it work, and I'm rather impressed. Also, don't let him fool you with the "first true fic" note down there--he's a fairly accomplished writer in other arenas.
